Product Field Work

Working notes on AI & product.

I lead product in regulated software. Here I keep my explorations outside the day job: working prototypes, studies of public data, and ideas I’m still testing.

Index of explorations

Each line connects a project to a question.

Three questions guide my explorations.

Can we see the pattern?

Use AI to make large, messy datasets easier to understand. Then test whether the pattern holds up.

Seen in Sorting Sea, The Engine and the drug shortage study

Can we check the evidence?

Keep the original sources close, so a person can inspect where an answer came from.

Seen in Said vs. Filed and Can I Build Here?

When should a person decide?

Explore where AI can help, what it gets wrong, and when a person needs to step in.

Projects & experiments

Personal explorations outside my day job, built with public data.

01The question: what useful problem could AI help solve?
02The exploration: a working prototype or data experiment.
03The learning: what worked, what failed, and what remains open.

About

I lead product for AI-native software in a regulated industry, where every record can be audited and every change has to be explained. That habit of proving things follows me into every domain here.

This site records my explorations outside that role. I build a working idea, test it, and write down what it taught me. It is a personal lab, separate from my professional work experience. Based in Tacoma, Washington.
